As stated in Chapter 48 of the Tao Te Ching:\n\u201cIn the pursuit of learning, every day something is acquired;\nin the pursuit of the Dao, every day something is let go.\u201d\nWhile the accumulation of learning is undoubtedly important, if it cannot be internalized as one\u2019s own realization, it remains like scratching an itch through a boot\u2014ultimately failing to reach the true essence.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The purpose of studying classics is to guide the direction of life and establish right understanding.
