Within China's enduring cultural tradition, the study of the Dao is not merely a philosophical system—it is a wisdom for living. It guides us in harmonizing with nature, understanding the true meaning of life, and pursuing inner peace, reflecting the essence of the Zhong-Lü Quanzhen Dao tradition.

The Great Dao is supremely simple. We strive to convey its depth in accessible ways—through the Hermitage’s publication "Tao Te Ching: A Simple Commentary by Ancestral Teacher Lü Dongbin" and through sharing various topics on Daoist and life philosophy—to inspire reflection on the source of life, foster serenity in daily living, and illuminate the path of self-cultivation.

As a classic of Daoist thought, the Tao Te Ching has been commented upon by countless sages over the centuries, with many annotations also attributed to Ancestral Teacher Lü Dongbin.

By a meaningful turn of fate, Teacher Lü delivered a new simple commentary on the eighty-one chapters of the Tao Te Ching through spirit-writing at "Puxuan Hermitage" in Canada, offering a concise interpretation of each chapter's essence.

With plain and clear language, Teacher Lü hoped to help readers grasp truthful insight and values, understand the principles governing life and the cosmos, and thereby enhance personal spiritual cultivation. It is also his wish that this book may contribute to the clarification and propagation of the Dao.

To make Teacher Lü’s teachings more accessible, disciples of Puxuan Hermitage and Huixuan Hermitage have distilled his commentary into [Key Meanings], organized into two practical dimensions: and , allowing readers to grasp their essence with ease. The book also includes supplementary materials on Teacher Lü, Daoist history, Quanzhen thought, and the concept of karma for reference.

Guided by Teacher Lü’s compassionate vow to deliver all beings, the two Hermitages have jointly published "Tao Te Ching: A Simple Commentary by Ancestral Teacher Lü Dongbin", distributing it widely as a free book of wisdom.

May this simple commentary on the Tao Te Ching help integrate Daoist thought into everyday life, enabling calm and grace amid worldly complexities, and in doing so, inspire the journey of cultivation—living testimony to Teacher Lü’s enduring guidance.
