Daoist Principles and Practices Sharing

Home/ Daoist Sharing

Daoist principles are not merely knowledge; they are truly a discipline of study for the cultivation of mind and body. As stated in Chapter 48 of the Tao Te Ching:

“Continuous gain in rational knowledge breadth increases the ability to manipulate knowledge to satisfy materialistic desires.

“Continuous gain in the knowledge of Tao decreases materialistic desires.

While the accumulation of rational knowledge is undoubtedly important, however, it remains metaphorically like scratching an itch through a boot if it cannot be internalized as one’s own inner –self realization because it ultimately fails to reach the true essence.

The purpose of studying classics is to guide the direction of life and to establish the right understanding of the Cosmic “Truth”. Classics are not meant to be memorized, but to facilitate introspection and thus awakening and inspire correction of actions. The practice of Daoist principles emphasizes learning, introspection, experiential and personal realization, using the right understanding of the universal “Truth” as a guiding beacon to seek inner peace and return to one’s authentic innate nature.

Through sharing of understanding of Daoist principles and practices, we hope everyone may grasp the essence of universal wisdom, integrate it into the reality of daily life and embody it in daily practice.
