Recent Developments
Thanks to years of ongoing support from Huixuan Hermitage, the Huixuan First Hope Primary School in Guizhou Province has become the first fully equipped, standardized school building in this impoverished and remote mountainous area. Under the persistent commitment of the school’s leadership and teachers to the principle of “educating people as the foundation, moral education as the priority,” the motivation of both staff and students has been greatly enhanced. Through continuous development and innovation, the school has nurtured generations of young Chinese learners.
With positive recognition and ongoing attention from the Qingzhen Municipal Party Committee, Municipal Government, and Municipal Education Bureau, the local government has now taken over the school and continues to invest in upgrading and expanding its facilities. Below are recent updates on the development of Huixuan First Hope Primary School in Guizhou.
1. Infrastructure Expansion In September 2019, construction began on a new comprehensive building (located to the right of the original teaching block). The school playground was also resurfaced with environmentally friendly plastic material as per design specifications, and campus landscaping was replanned and rearranged. These improvements have revitalized the school’s environment and received widespread praise from the local community.
2. Student & Staff Growth The school currently has over 300 students distributed across 6 natural classes, with enrollment showing an upward trend in recent years. It is projected to expand to approximately 12 natural classes in the coming years. The school employs 17 staff members, including 12 teachers, 2 security personnel, and 3 canteen workers.
3. Student Lunch Program The Municipal Education Bureau has conducted a feasibility study and approved the construction of a dedicated student canteen (equipped with a kitchen and dining hall). This facility will support the implementation of a class-based meal system, ensuring students have access to nutritious meals during the school day.
